Our Team

Johnathan, better known as Johnny, is the Medical Operations Director for Queer Event Medical and is the organization founder. He brings a wealth of experience to this role including prior extensive work experience in the Event Medical Services industry having worked with Spectrum Event Medical Services (VELD; Scotiabank Arena; Digital Dreams; RBC Echo Beach; Budweiser Stage; high risk sporting/corporate events), Oddessy Medical (VELD; Boots & Hearts). Johnny also has extensive work experience in Toronto’s nightlife scene having worked with Ink Entertainment (Rebel; Cabana Pool Bar) on their in-house medical team for several years.

Johnny attended Durham College for Primary Care Paramedic earning his paramedic diploma in 2021 and then subsequently earning his AEMCA from the Ministry of Health; he graduated the top of his class. He completed his preceptorship with Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services and then worked with Toronto Paramedic Services as a Primary Care Paramedic. Presently, Johnny enjoys working in an acute clinical healthcare setting working with priority populations including under-housed/marginalized folks. In this setting, Johnny also works directly with folks preparing for pre-op/post-op transition related surgeries.

Johnny is passionate about safety in high risk event settings and enjoys working with queer event organizers to ensure safety of their guests. He enjoys utilizing his clinical knowledge as a paramedic in these settings to promote the health and well-being of others.
