We are Toronto’s boutique event medical services company. At the heart of our practice is a commitment to providing exceptional on site medical standby services designed exclusively for the queer community. We offer comprehensive risk management solutions and specialize in large crowd and party atmospheres including nightclubs, festivals and concerts but are available for corporate and sporting events. Although designed for the queer community, we work with strong allies too and your event does not need to be queer in order for us to provide service.

Led by Johnathan Stavrou, (a queer AEMCA certified paramedic), a Durham College graduate, he has worked all across Ontario and with some of Ontario’s leading event medical service companies including Spectrum EMS and Odyssey Medical. In these settings, he had the pleasure of working large scale operations including VELD, Boots and Hearts, Scotiabank Arena, and many more. Prior to working with Canada’s largest land ambulance service, Toronto Paramedic Services, as a Primary Care Paramedic, Johnathan worked on the in-house medical response team for Ontario’s largest nightclub for a number of years, Rebel, gaining significant exposure to nightlife medical response.

Queer EMR endorses a trauma informed approach to all of our work, which incorporates the important principles of harm reduction. We are led by values that include anti-oppressive decolonizing frameworks and are fully committed to anti-stigma, anti-racist, and any sort of non-inclusive practice. Our team of dedicated healthcare professionals include active duty road paramedics and registered nurses who together have years of experience in event medical operations.
